Close Working Relationships with Chefs

Celebrity Chefs Are Wharfe Valley Farms Biggest Fans

Over the years we have worked with countless Chefs and Celebrity Chefs right across the country. We’re incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve developed and the support we’ve received from them. They understand and rave about the delicious flavour and outstanding health benefits of rapeseed oil, and have helped to make it a ‘must-have’ product in every cook’s pantry.

Our products have appeared on TV’s Masterchef, Countryfile and Ade In Britain (Ade Edmundson’s food tour), plus The Great British Menu. Along with Ade Edmundson visiting us, we were even lucky enough to have Sir Terry Wogan here at the Farm, enjoying a meal (and a glass or 2) with us back in the day.

We’re fortunate and grateful that many Celebrity Chefs regularly endorse our rapeseed products on various culinary occasions.
Along with ‘rubbing shoulders with the great and the good’ on a more down-to-earth level, we’re here on a day-today basis continually supporting our hospitality sector and the Chefs who work within it.

Taking time out to attend regional Food & Drink shows and events, this is where our relationships flourish – meeting old ‘Cheffy’’ friends and also the emerging talent who are coming through to be the next big names in the UK’s food sector.

Often advising, experimenting, and producing our Extra Virgin Cold Pressed rapeseed oil products for our Chefs to work with and create interesting new recipes, we welcome any opportunity to support and encourage them all. Hence the reason for us creating our Celebrity Chef Challenge.

Wharfe Valley Farms Celebrity Chef Challenge

Wharfe Valley Farm's Challenge Day at Malton's Cookery SchoolWith a reputation for innovative challenges and events, we have come up with a novel way to showcase our products and how to use them in simple, easy to prepare dishes created by amazing local Chefs.

We have literally challenged some of our Chefs to create dishes of their choice, using any of our products – oils, dressings, mayos and fruit vinegars. Sweet or savoury – starters, mains, snacks or nibbles – the choice was theirs.

Our first Challenge Day took place in November 2021. We filmed at The Cook’s Place in Malton, North Yorkshire, owned by Gilly Robinson. Our chefs created dishes to reflect their individual styles using only the ‘Best of British’ locally sourced ingredients.

Failing her A ‘Levels’ she was sent to Eggleston Hall in Teesdale where she achieved The Cordon Bleu Diploma. After the second year of teaching at the college, she was offered a job in the director’s dining room at Saab Scania in Stockholm, Sweden.

“Food preparation is my passion, where it comes from how it is produced and how it can be used to avoid waste is very important to me. Having eating out as my hobby is sometimes expensive, sometimes it has resulted in a job! “Shy kids get nowt”/ if you don’t ask you don’t get”. Who knows what the future holds but it’s bound to be an adventure!”
